South Korea interested in buying Russian Su-35s
South Korea is interested in purchasing military planes of Russia’s Sukhoi Company, the chairman of the defence and security committee at the Russian Federation Council upper house of parliament, Viktor
Ozerov, told Russian news agency, Itar-Tass, in an exclusive interview on Thursday.
Ozerov heads a delegation of Russian parliamentarians to South Korea.
According to the senator, South Korea and Russia cooperate in the military-technical sphere, and the fact that Russian tanks, infantry fighting vehicles BMP-3 and antiaircraft guns are adopted by the South Korean Army, testifies to intentions to continue cooperation in that direction.
“During our talks with South Korean parliamentarians, intentions were expressed to buy Sukhoi military aircraft. I will speak about that with the head of Rostekhnologii Corporation, Sergei Chemezov,” Ozerov stressed.
“Koreans are satisfied with those kinds of weapons and military hardware that we have supplied to South Korea, although there are certain remarks (as to Murena hovercraft), on which we work,” he said.
“And we must build up such cooperation that gives us a possibility to keep our enterprises of the defence-industrial complex busy,” the head of the Russian delegation noted.
Besides, the South Korean side has demonstrated interest in buying additionally two to three Murena hovercraft.
