Sukhoi signs a contract worth USD 370 million

SuperJet International a joint venture between Alenia Aeronautica (a Finmeccanica Company) and Sukhoi Holding signed an order today with the Italian Blue Panorama Airlines for the purchase of 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft. Based on the list price, the agreement has an estimated value of USD 370 million. The deliveries of these SSJ100/95B aircraft will start at the end of 2012. The aircraft interiors will be provided by the Italian design group Pininfarina.

The Blue Panorama SSJ100 fleet will be also supported by SuperJet International with tailored after-sales solutions beginning with the first delivery.

The first Sukhoi Superjet 100 entered into revenue services with Armavia on April 21, 2011. The aircraft was put into operation in an extremely short period of time, two days after the official delivery to the launch customer on April, 19 2011. On June 16, 2011 the SSJ100 entered into commercial operation with the Russian airline Aeroflot from Moscow to St. Petersburg. During the first two months of operation the SSJ100 totalized 119 flights and more than 268 hours. Owing to its economic efficiency and operational capabilities, the aircraft confirmed to be suitable both to regional and to short-haul routes.

Blue Panorama Airlines (BPA) is an all Italian private airline, which operates on long-haul scheduled flights, on the inclusive tour’s market on long, medium and short range and ad hoc flights. Blue Panorama Airlines is IATA active member.

Incorporated in 1998 and based in Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa and Bolonia, the airline operates with a fleet composed by 4 Boeing 767-300ER, 2 Boeing 757-200, 3 Boeing 737-400 and 3 Boeing 737-300.

Blue Panorama Airline operates in the common destinations of the European area, the Mediterranean basin and the Red Sea, as well as in the routes Rome-Cuba, Milan-Cuba and Verona-Cuba, where BPA is leader with more than 70% of market share, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Thailand, Myanmar, Jamaica, Curacao, Aruba, Antigua, Bahamas. From July 2011 Blue Panorama will fly to Brasil.

With Boeing 757-200 the airline also opened routes to Africa, Tanzania and Kenya.

Since November 2005, the fleet of BPA is also operating Blu-express.com, connecting Rome with Catania, Palermo, Turin, Lamezia Terme, Genoa Brindisi, Nice and Istanbul, Reggio Calabria to Milano Linate and Roma Fiumcino started in June.

During the summer, BPA operates also routes to Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Granada, Kos, Samos, Skiatos, Rhodes, Santorini, Cyprus, Mykonos, Bodrum and Antalya.
In 2010 our carrier flew more than 16,000 flights, carrying among 2.000.000 passengers.

Since June 2004 a new branch of Blue Panorama is developing the service of executive flights operating with new P180 Avanti.
SuperJet International, a joint venture between Alenia Aeronautica, a Finmeccanica Company (51%) and Sukhoi Holding (49%), is in charge of the marketing, sales, customization and delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet in Europe, the Americas, Oceania, Africa and Japan. The Company is also responsible for training and worldwide after-sales support, as well as the design and development of VIP and cargo variants. A SuperJet International branch is active in Moscow, together with a sales office in Washington, DC, U.S.A.

Designed, developed and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), in partnership with Alenia Aeronautica, a Finmeccanica Company, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a 100 seat regional jet. A further 115-120 seat variant is under study. The SSJ100 is the most advanced and environmentally friendly new generation regional jet.

The first SSJ100 was rolled out from SCAC’s final assembly shop at Komsomolsk-on Amur on September 26th 2007. First flight was successfully accomplished on May 19th 2008.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 cruises at a Maximum Operating Speed of Mach 0.81 and 40.000 feet. It takes off from a 1.731 meters runway in the basic range and 2.052 meters in the long range. The operating range for the basic version is 3.048 km and 4.578 km for the long range version.

The certification campaign was accomplished with four prototypes for flight testing and two prototypes for static and fatigue trials. The tests show that the aircraft meets all certification requirements. In February 2011, the SSJ100 obtained the Type Certificate by the Russian Certification.
